internet

We had electric and water from the beginning. The phone took a few days to arrive. The internet took nearly three weeks. And now, with all our major utilities in place, life is becoming more and more normalized here.

I am happy to report that we have a very satisfactory 3 megabits of bandwidth (although we were promised a juicy 8... gotta find out about that), and that wirelessness reaches easily throughout the house. I was worried about the stone walls, but, fortunately, needlessly.

And there's a new kind of energy floating through our home now. Fast internet, hanging all around us in the air. This is no doubt a new experience for an old house. I hope the house likes it :)

So from this point I will try to backblog some of what has been going on. The entries will be listed in order, but may not be published in order. So check the list for new ones.

It's amazing, actually, being net-free for so long here, and then suddenly having it. We had just long enough to begin to form a net-free lifestyle routine, to know the house without it, and then this huge new time-influence arrives. i wonder how it will change the flow of life here?

And with that said, I'm gonna hang ten, dude. Surf's up.
