House #1: not impressed
"S"'s a businesswoman, that's for sure. We showed up in her office, eager and ready to get our project underway, she had a suggestion for us: "I don't have what you're looking for on my books right away, as we discussed. So while you wait, you might want to consider buying an apartment in town. When you find what you really want, you can sell it, or rent it out. I have a place to show you."
Not really what we had originally wanted, but we're open-minded: let's see what she's got. After all, it's cheap at 107,000 euros. So we walked over. Here's the outside of the building:
Not very impressive. Not very alternative. Just an under-construction apartment in a parking-lot courtyard in the center of town. Everything so new, the walls and ceilings had yet to be completely installed.
Not a good start to a search. 100% character-free. And where we'd asked for some yard-space for Kepler to run around in, we were offered a tiny patio surrounded by high-walled buildings. A view of the sky. Sometimes, even direct sun.
No, I don't think so. Even for the interim.
